I thought I'd publish a couple of post-Christmas photos. The day after Christmas always feels a little like a hangover.
Here is our dining room table. It was cleared and nice for a scant hour or so yesterday, but Nature clearly abhors a vacuum (nearly as much as I do.) Any dishes that you see are from yesterday morning. Bad.
One, this locally handmade knitting needle holder, a gift from Sparkly Seacow.
The best gift we gave this year was a new iPod for Sparkly Seacow, after her previous one (which she had saved up for and bought with her own money) was stolen. We chipped in with our daughter Cinderbelle and grandparents, and made Sparkly very happy. She loves her music!

I love this, Suzy and pray that our new President has a safe journey, albeit a very difficult one, in the years ahead of us.
Hi, Suzy
Simple gifts and family traditions. That's what it's all about for us, too. We try to remember and include everyone we love in some symbolic or literal way.
The needle holder is really lovely. And I can imagine how happy Sparkly must have been to have her music back!
Sweet post. :-)
I'm so relieved to see a Packers' mug on the table! Yes, that is indeed Wisconsin....
I'm glad you were able to get the Sparkly Seacow a new iPod. How could she have traveled without one???
(Safe trip!)
The Packer mug? Wait 'til we publish the photos of the Xmas tree ornaments! It's a little like the infamous lamp in A Christmas Story. One of us is a fan. One couldn't care less. Guess which is which.
I hope that you had a great holiday. Now, we may have to rename this holiday wrestling day.
I apologize for my dear wife, Dcup she's not really from Chicago. Of course we love Wisconsin, but for beer, brats, Madison, The Nicolet National Forest and all things cheese. I will however, wrestle her later because of the Packer mug comment. Win or lose happy holiday.
Please forgive this Bears fan.
Mathman, any self respecting progressive really ought to be a Packer fan, since they are the only socialist team in major league sports. (I dare you to say that in a bar in Green Bay and see what happens). Were it not for the fact that they were grandfathered in, the Packers wouldn't even be allowed to exist under the league's current rules of ownership.
I would never say anything negative about the Packers anywhere close to Wisconsin let alone in a bar in Green Bay (which is where I had my first beer with my Mama BTW).
You're correct about being a Packers fan and that would make my grandmother happy. But like most religions, I was born with Bears in the blood and it is difficult to break the habbit.
I am safely 800 + miles away in Georgia where they think they know football (the SEC? ha) and where I am going to zip my mouth shut.
Mathman, I think Ed was referring to saying the Packers are a Socialist team in a Green Bay tavern. It's a given that you don't say you're a Bears fan. By the way, to me the Packers are incidental to being from Wisconsin. Cheese and the Nicolet National Forest -- now THAT I can get excited about.
Suzy is correct. Even though it may be stretching the definition of the word "socialist", I was trying to say that the Packers, as a team that is owned by the people of Green Bay, are a socialist organization, but it probably wouldn't be good for one's health to say so in a Green Bay tavern.
No offense taken (like the Bears).
Boxing Day at our house means a full day of English football (the REAL version).
Glad to hear you had a great day.
