Holy Guacamole, Look At All Those Grapes!

Have I lost my mind? That's the bottom of my kitchen sink, filled with Concord grapes. My friend Frances stood up in Meeting 2 weeks ago and asked if anyone wanted to harvest grapes from her yard. I finally made it over there today. It was an impressive abundance of grapes! I could have taken 3X as many, and still there would be grapes left. Right now those grapes are stewing on the stove, releasing their lovely juice, so that I can make grape jelly in the next day or so. PB&J, anyone? (Too bad I don't know anyone growing peanuts in their backyard!)

I didn't know you could make guacamole from grapes! Is there anything you can't do?

I haven't tried grape soup yet.

Mmmmm. I'm reminded of my grandma's grape jelly. Yum. I love purple grapes. I guess they're concords, aren't they?

DCup, You live in Georgia ... Got any peanuts in your garden?

Sorry, no peanuts. I think they grow a little further south of us. Dang!

Wow. I grew up on PBJ with Welches grape jelly (in the Flintstones jelly glasses, no less!)
A few years ago, I made some grape jelly at home. What an amazing difference, if I do say so myself.
My cousin used to grow peanuts in his garden in Georgia, but he grew his for boilin' not for roasting.

I have some edamame for boilin' right now. I wonder if you can roast them for butter. I guess it would just be soy butter with a fancy-pantsy name.

You know, those jelly glasses are the very best wine glasses. We have a set of Welch's Pokémon glasses, and nothing says classy like serving your guests Merlot in Squirtle™.
