[Former Wasilla mayor John Stein] says that as mayor, Palin continued to inject religious beliefs into her policy at times. "She asked the library how she could go about banning books," he says, because some voters thought they had inappropriate language in them. "The librarian was aghast." The librarian, Mary Ellen Baker, couldn't be reached for comment, but news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire her for not giving "full support" to the mayor. Unbelievable
As someone who is just a heartbeat away from becoming a librarian -- well, OK -- actually I have to pay the $100 for my license and then find a job -- this is shocking. Nay, appalling!

Why do you hate Sarah Palin's right to ban books?
Yeah, Hillary supporters should love that
THIS is why we SHOULD be talking about this person.
Yes, everyone should. The sad thing is, it will probably be the daughter's pregnancy that tanks it.
She's so crazy, she gives batsh*t a bad name.
I'm glad you're putting this info out. I deeply distrust and disagree with people who want to ban books!!
Why go to the trouble of banning them, when she can just check out the offensive books and never return them, as one member of our local Taliban has done?
Oh that is shocking and horrid! We need more librarians like you and thank you so much for my beautiful package! That Ukranian egg is absolutely gorgeous and a lovely treasure, thank you so much for thinking of me Suzy and for your generosity. I really appreciate it. It truly brightened a very bad day!
Hmmm....not sure if the pregnancy will "tank it". Maybe. I wonder if the pregnancy is being used, in a cynical, cruel way to distract from all the other questions about Palin that need answering. I feel sorry for the daughter. And I feel that the Republicans will use every trick they can to spin people away from those questions. Thanks for posting this. There are so many Palin scandals floating around, I can barely keep up!!! LOL
Banning books is just as bad as watching or reading Feirenheight 451 I think its called. I may have misspelled that too. Sorry. But the point is there.
Yeah, it has pretty chilling implications.
I hope that the uncommitted voter won't fall for her "compelling" story.
