COURIC: You've said, quote, "John McCain will reform the way Wall Street does business." Other than supporting stricter regulations of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac two years ago, can you give us any more example of his leading the charge for more oversight?Sarah Palin is dangerous. She's also a blithering idiot, but that didn't stop people from falling for the lies of Bush/Cheney now, did it?
PALIN: I think that the example that you just cited, with his warnings two years ago about Fannie and Freddie--that, that's paramount. That's more than a heck of a lot of other senators and representatives did for us.COURIC: But he's been in Congress for 26 years. He's been chairman of the powerful Commerce Committee. And he has almost always sided with less regulation, not more.
PALIN: He's also known as the maverick though. [My italics. By the way, I think that sentence would have had more oomph if she had begun it with the words "Yet however." "Yet however he's also known as the maverick though."] Taking shots from his own party, and certainly taking shots from the other party. Trying to get people to understand what he's been talking about--the need to reform government.
COURIC: I'm just going to ask you one more time, not to belabor the point. Specific examples in his 26 years of pushing for more regulation?
PALIN: I'll try to find you some and I'll bring them to you.
You want a maverick? Here's a real maverick!

John McCain was a POW? I had no idea! Why hasn't he ever mentioned it?
Oh, brother. It was embarrassing to watch that interview.
My dad, who is a serious Fox-watching Conservative zombie said about Palin, "She's a real nice lady who can catch up quick. She can learn the ropes."
Um, she should already know the ropes, Dad.
ARGH!
Enough of her already, you know? Can't she go back to Wasilla and call it all a big joke? Cuz it is all a big joke, right? RIGHT?
It's Rockfish!
Ed, now I can rest easy! I thought you might be slipping.
BTW - the title of this post and your tag of the same name, borrowed by me has become the cornerstone of my blog.
I thank you.
And with that I say that it is about job creation and bailing out Wall Street so that health care can be available those who feel ill, the ones who are crying...
Jesus, I'm sick of these people.
