Well said. Well written. I especially liked the Eugene Debs quote at the end. It describes American politics quite succinctly.
Yes. The weird thing about Ayers is, I've known about him as a progressive educator for years -- and had never heard of his Weather Underground days.
I suppose if I ever run for national office, my opponents will try to skewer me based on my associations with Karl Armstrong: I ate at his sandwich shop and was at several parties that he also attended.
I love the Debs quote too. Eugene Debs is one of my personal heroes. (I have a connection with him too: we were both born in Terre Haute!)
